Pinette, having recently been named
Stand Up Comedian of the Year by the
American Comedy Awards, is an
actor/comedian whose time has clearly
come. He has become a regular on The
Tonight Show. John is best known as
the car jack victim on the last episode
of Seinfeld , however he has
already had an extensive acting career.
He just starred opposite Rodney
Dangerfield in the Artisan Entertainment
comedy My Five Wives, and with
Gwyneth Paltrow in the feature film
Duets. He also starred with Dennis
Rodman and Dane Cook in the Columbia
Pictures feature Simon Sez .
John Pinette began his comedy career
at the age of twenty-two and it wasn't
long before a very young John Pinette
was touring comedy clubs around the
country. Shortly thereafter Pinette got
his big break when he was asked to tour
with Frank Sinatra . Soon followed
opening engagements with Howie Mandel ,
Ray Charles and Michael Bolton .
Hollywood began to take notice of
John Pinette's immense talents early on.
John was one of the stars of the
syndicated series, The Grudge Match,
and then worked for Imagine
Entertainment on an NBC pilot entitled,
Smart Guys. Guest appearances
on Alf and Carol & co.
, soon followed, in addition to the NBC
Movie of the Week with Mary Tyler Moore
entitled, Thanksgiving Day.
Soon after, John was starring in another
pilot for NBC, Sunday Funnies,
created by Ron Leavitt and Michael Moy ,
(the creators of Fox's "Married with
Children"). John Pinette also starred in
Fox's sitcom, Vinnie and Bobby
before becoming a series regular on
Fox's hit series Parker Lewis.
In feature films, John Pinette landed
a leading role in Paramount Pictures
feature, Dear God directed by
Garry Marshall , starring Greg Kinnear ,
and co-starred in the Warner Bros.
feature film Reckless Kelly
with Yahoo Serious . Pinette can also be
seen in the Universal Pictures feature
Junior, starring Danny Devito
and Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed
by Ivan Retiman , as well as the Fox
Television movies Revenge of the
Nerds III and IV.
John Pinette has continued to perform
his stand up routine across America s
well as on such shows as MTV's Half
Hour Comedy, A & E's Evening at
the Improv , Caroline's Comedy Hour,
Fox Television's Comic Strip
Live and Showtime's Comedy Club
All-stars. With the release of his
first comedy CD Show Me The Buffet
one might start to get the
impression that John Pinette will soon
be a household name, if he isn't one
already.
